Glitter Reindeer

As if gold is not enough I decided I needed a little glitter too.

I am loving all the deer/reindeer decor lately. And since I am not ready for antlers in the house yet, this is a good start.

Glitter Reindeer - the colored door

I found this large ornament at Michaels. With sales and coupons is was around $1.50.

I had some Martha Stewart metallic gold paint and I brushed on two coats. (my counters are so dark it is hard to get a good picture, not to mention the glare. Need to work on that.)

Here she is all gold.

I painted on Elmers glue and then sprinkled on the glitter. I didn't want the glue to dry too fast so I did it in sections. After dumping off the extra glitter I went back and painted on more glue in areas that needed it, and added more glitter.

I LOVE how it turned out! I decided to put it on my mantle in the middle of my chalkboard. I used painters tape to put it on the chalkboard in hopes it won't take the paint off. It has been a few days and it hasn't fallen off yet. If it does fall off it will be like a glitter bomb went off, oh boy... I hope she stays.

My mantle is not done yet, it still needs some tweaking. I will show it off when I am done. I am loving jewel tones this year, actually I loved them last year but was not ready to take the plunge into nontraditional colors.  I think I am ready. I also love gold and silver, we will have to see what wins. How about you? Do you stick with traditional colors or do you venture out?

Have a fantastic day!
