I don't usually decorate much for the holidays upstairs but I though it would be fun to add a few things to the girls rooms. They always love crafty stuff. These pom pom wreaths seemed perfect for their doors.
I found a cardboard box to use as the wreath form. I didn't have a bowl the right size so I used a string and pencil to make my circle. I decided I wanted a 12" circle so I tied my pencil to one end and marked the string at 6". I then held the string down and marked my circle with the pencil.
I also marked a smaller circle in the middle to cut out making the wreath 3" wide. With my first wreath, I starting gluing the pom poms on and realized I needed to paint the cardboard white because it showed through in between the pom poms. So do yourself a favor and paint yours first. I started with the outer edge and with hot glue, glued them all the way around. Then moved my way into the center.
By the way I got my Pom poms from Hobby Lobby. It was the only place I could find them large enough and not in a variety pack.
And after three packages of Pom poms, lots of hot glue and of course a cute pink ribbon they were done.
They turned out really cute and the girls love them, so I call that a win.
With Thanksgiving falling so late this year I feel like I need to bring out the Christmas decorations soon. Is it too early? Have you started decorating? I love Christmas but I don't want to bring it out too early.
Have a wonderful day!
