After taking down my Halloween wreath I needed a new one until I get an evergreen one for Christmas. I was in the mood for lots of color and as always trying to use what I had around the house.
My Mom was cleaning out her yarn stash and I volunteered to take some off her hands. I just picked some fun colors that seemed to work together. I used a foam wreath form I already had on hand.
I started by tying all the yarn together and securing it to the back of the wreath form with a few pins.
I foolishly though I could keep the yarn in their spools and just wrap it around the wreath form. Well that didn't work. at. all. It became a tangled mess very quickly.
So plan B was to stretch the string out around my family room.
Then wrap it neatly around a folded paper plate. Then it went so much smoother and faster.
Of course I ran out of yarn and had to stretch it around my family room again, but I just tied another knot and pinned it in the back.
Now for the poinsettias, I found a few templates online. One was from Better Homes and Gardens. I used some left over pink and purple felt for the flowers.
I glued the pink onto the purple so it was layered.
I found some tiny pom poms at Michaels for the middle of the flower and glued them down as well.
After the flowers were done I hot glued them onto the wreath and hung it up with some ribbon. Pretty easy and it came out so fun.
Have a wonderful day everyone! I am getting the itch to start decorating for Christmas, is anyone else?
