Inspiration Friday

This time next week we will be planting trees, shrubs and flowers around our back patio. I am so excited to have flowers in our beds instead of just dirt, I am so sick of looking at dirt. So I was enjoying looking at landscaping this week.

I love the use of rocks and mulch in landscaping, I wish I would have seen this before we landscaped our front yard. It is such a good combo.

Our back yard faces west so it is a hot place to eat dinner some nights. We have been looking into pergolas or maybe sunshades to help block the sun a little. This one looks pretty cool. We would have to figure out how to secure it, maybe posts in the ground.

Inspiration Friday

I am looking forward to a fun family weekend, the weather is supposed to be nice so I can get outside and do a little yard work. Next week the kids and I are going to visit Grandma and Grandpa in Michigan and the kids are SO excited. We have done the drive lots but this is my first time going without my husband or Mom to help with the driving, so wish me luck. I will have to plan ahead for snacks and car games. Any suggestions to make the 8 hour drive easier would be welcome.

Inspiration Friday

Well I don't know about you but we have had lots of April showers so I hope it really does bring May flowers and warm weather. We are getting ready for our neighborhood garage sale next weekend and I still have LOTS to do. I am determined to get rid of the things we are not using.  I have a tendency to hang onto things just in case I need it or want it later. Not this time, it all goes. I have lots of work ahead of me.

I hope you have all had a great week. I have had lots of projects floating around in my head but have had a hard time getting focussed and actually doing them. I have been feeling scattered. Do you ever feel that way? I need to just pick one and finish it. Seems easy but I seem to start something and then move onto the next, so I have lots of started projects.
My poor laundry room has been covered in paint swatches since the fall, yikes! But I did finally pick a color! Maybe I will paint it soon. I hope your week has been more productive.

Well I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We are having a neighborhood garage sale in a few weeks and I need to get organized and get rid of lots of stuff! Time to clean out the closets and toys, that will feel so good. I see lots of work in my future, but it will be worth it.

My kids have been on Spring break this week and we have been trying to plan at least one activity a day to keep everyone from going crazy. And the weather has not been great for going outside so we have been building a lot of forts, which is always fun. It also means Mom is not as productive as I would like. Oh well their is always next week, right?

I did, however find some inspiration to share with you this week. As you can tell I am kind of craving some warmer weather and sunny places.

Well this week has flown by and next week the kids have spring break. We aren't going anywhere so I need to come up with some fun activities to do with the kids or they will start climbing the walls by Wednesday. Plus I have to adjust my productivity level, a lot. I never get quite as much done when the kids are home all day. Our snow is melting fast which is great but now we are headed into the mud season. It is hard to play outside with so much mud. Well, I should say the kids are fine with it, it is just me that has a hard time with the mud. Anyway here is some inspiration for your weekend. I hope you enjoy!
